The cold winter winds kept there distance which made for a pleasant day at Yarrawonga for the 2008 bull sale. Yarrawonga Viking, a 23 month old son of Yarrawonga Romeo out of Waco Z771 topped the sale for $30 000 which sold to Harry and Jill Powell, Munnabah Santa Gertrudis Stud, Coolah, NSW, via mobile phone. (right)

The second top price of $28 000 was paid by Ian Walker, Strathmore Santa Gertrudis Stud, Ravensbourne, Blackall, for the 20 month old Waco Validate—a polled bull weighing 824 kg and possessing the second highest daily weight gain figures of the draft at 1.29 kg/day.

A further two polled bulls were secured for $22 000 each going to the Sargood Family from Manresa, Augathella, and the Cox Family from Gattonvale, Collinsville.

Michael Doering of Walmona Santa Gertrudis Stud, Truro, South Australia bought 21 month old Yarrawonga Voltage for $18 000.

Elders agent from St George, Dan Lucas put together two lines of commercial bulls for clients. John and Rose Hill, Balmoral, Dirranbandi bought 20 bulls for an average of $2 700 and Kevin and Sandy Southern, Secret Plains, St George bought 8 bulls for an average of $2 500.
